The Department of State Services is said to have detained a Lagos State coordinator for the rally that was organized by supporters of Peter Obi, a candidate for president from the Labour Party.

When Joseph Onuorah, the coordinator, arrived in Lagos on his way from France in the early hours of Saturday, he was arrested.
“Upon his arrival in Lagos, Joseph Onuorah, the Lagos coordinator for the Obi rally, was detained by the DSS.A witness stated, “He is said to be returning from France for the Obi Rally in Lagos.”
On Saturday, major American cities hosted rallies in support of Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate.
The supporters of the LP candidate, who are more commonly referred to as “Obi-dients,” were observed congregating in important locations across Nigeria, including Lagos, Kaduna, Abia, and Edo state.
It was learned that the supporters began their walk in Lagos at the Admiralty Junction and traveled through the main road in Lekki.
They marched toward the Jakande-Elegashi axis, carrying flags, banners, and other banners, ostensibly to avoid fighting with the police already stationed at the Lekki Toll Gate.
Keep in mind that a Lagos court decided on Wednesday not to allow the rally to meet at the Lekki Toll Gate.
Abiodun Alabi, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, and the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, were also given orders by the court to ensure that the order was followed.
The organizers claim that the purpose of the rally is to build organic support for the LP presidential candidate in advance of the general elections in February of next year.
Datti Baba-Ahmed is supporting Obi, a former governor of Anambra State who is 61 years old.
