On Friday, the convoy of Apostle Johnson Suleman, the General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries, was attacked by gunmen who are thought to be assassins.
According to Akahi News, the incident occurred in Edo State along the Benin Auchi Road.
Seven people, including three police officers, died in the attack, according to a second report.
While confirming the incident to Vanguard, Sam Amune, the Ministry’s legal adviser, asserted that it was an attempted assassination.
Amune claims that Apostle Suleman’s children were in his car with him at the time of the incident.
Amune expressed regret for the individuals whose lives were taken in the attack.
“I think it is a case of an assassination attempt because the assailants who were in an Avalon and Sienna vehicle stopped other vehicles to reach Apostle Suleman’s convoy and they did not take anybody, the people just stopped and watched the drama unfold,” he stated in his account of the incident.
After completing a program in Tanzania the day before, he flew to Lagos and Benin, where he was joined by his family.Normally, his children drive their own car, but this time, they drove with their father while other household staff drove in their car.The others, three orderlies who typically drive directly behind him and then the next vehicle, were not so fortunate. He barely escaped death.
“It is very unfortunate that those lives were lost.”
