According to reports, a boat accident in the Shagari Local Government Area of Sokoto State resulted in the deaths of at least 15 people.
According to the information provided to our correspondent by Aliyu Dantanin Shagari, Chairman of the Shagari Local Government, the incident occurred on Tuesday evening while confirming the deaths of 15 individuals.
Prior to the incident, the boat carrying 25 people to Mauludi was in motion.
The problem of boating accidents has plagued the Shagari region, claiming numerous lives.
Keep in mind that the governor of the state, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, made a promise during a condolence visit to the local government following yet another incident involving a boat to provide live jackets that will assist in preventing drowning in the event of such a problem.
