Michael Ugochukwu Stephens, better known by his stage name Ruggedman, a rapper from Nigeria, has said that elections shouldn’t be seen as a game in which the candidate who is good at spreading money or rigging wins.
This was something the rapper from Abia State said as he talked about the general election in 2023.
In his tweets, Ruggedman said that a lot of Nigerians who claim to be educated have let their tribe and greed rule their morals.
He stated that these educated Nigerians view elections as a game in which the best at spreading money and rigging wins, rather than as a chance to put good people in positions of power to improve the lives of Nigerians.
Ruggedman also inquired as to how these educated Nigerians’ actions would result in positive and progressive changes for the nation.

He tweeted:

“Its so sad that a lot of supposed learned Nigerians have allowed tribe and greed overshadow their morals. They don’t see elections as a chance to put good people in places of power to make life better for Nigerians.

“Instead they see elections as a game where the best at spreading money and rigging wins. How exactly do you expect positive change and progress from such?

“Do not vote because the candidate is your friend or from your village or paid you money. Vote because he/she is the most qualified person to move the country forward. Vote wisely.”
