Gunmen kidnap police officer in Bauchi

Gunmen suspected to be bandits have kidnapped an Assistant Superintendent of Police, Nasiru Muhammed, in Toro town, Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
The police officer was said to have been kidnapped on Friday night, September 15, 2023, when gunmen stormed the town and started shooting sporadically into the air.
The incident caused pandemonium in the town as residents scampered for safety.
It was gathered that the gunmen stormed the town at about 9pm in their numbers, and shot into the air, causing pandemonium among the residents.
They eventually kidnapped the Assistant Superintendent of Police to an unknown destination.
The member representing Toro Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and Chairman of, House Committee on Ecological Funds and Great Green Wall, Ismail Dabo, who condemned the incident and called for calm, described it as unfortunate and regrettable considering the current economic situation.
