For failing to appear before it, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Consumer Protection Agency, Kofi Owusu Hene, aka Kofi Kapito, has been arrested by an Accra Circuit Court.
On Wednesday, October 19, 2022, Mrs. Christiana Cann, the judge in charge, issued the order.
When the case was called, Kofi Kapito, who is being tried by the court, did not show up.
The CEO of CPA is being held on charges of engaging in domestic violence with economic abuse, causing unlawful damage, and denying the use of a deceased person’s property.
It is alleged that the CEO of CPA threatened to sell a house that he and his late brother’s wife had jointly purchased in Ogbojo. The late brother’s wife has an interest in the house.
He is currently out on bail and has denied all charges.
