The Imo State College Of Education (IMSCOED) in Ihitte/Uboma, Imo State, is looking for interested and qualified individuals to participate in its recruitment process for 2022.
Recruitment for Provost Positions at Imo State College of Education (IMSCOED) The Provost, who serves as the College’s Chief Executive Officer, is in charge of the day-to-day management and operations of the college.
The successful candidate will be expected to lead the college with strong professional, academic, and administrative leadership in implementing the broad policies established by the Governing Council and Regulatory Agencies to achieve the College’s goals.

It would be expected of the Provost to have innovative skills and positive managerial qualities.
The Provost’s specific responsibilities include the following:
The college’s chief academic, administrative, and accounting officer.
The college’s academic activities are directed and overseen by the chairman of the academic board.
a member of the College’s Governing Council who is required to attend all council meetings, ensure that the council’s decisions are carried out faithfully and promptly, and make periodic reports on the progress of the college’s personal, financial, and infrastructure.

In accordance with government financial regulations, treasury circulars, and Governing Council decisions/directives under sound financial discipline and management, as may be advised by the Bursar of the College in all financial matters, responsible for approving and authorizing all payments, although he or she may delegate authority for certain votes to other officers.

Responsible for providing proper services to the College’s council meetings and committees. Someone who can build good relationships with the Public Colleges of Education, the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE), and other professional agencies, institutions, and bodies so that the College can eventually become a Centre of Excellence in Service.

Qualifications and Experience

Experience and qualifications The candidate must have a good honors doctorate from a reputable university in a field relevant to at least one College program.
He or she should be a registered and active member of an education-related professional association.
It is mandatory to hold a professional teaching credential, such as a Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) or Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE).
It will be advantageous to be registered as a Professional Teacher with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).
At the time of accepting the position, the candidate must not be older than 55 years old.
In addition to holding a senior teaching/research and top administrative position in an institution of higher learning as evidence of ability to manage human and material resources, the candidate must demonstrate a good track record in result-oriented research that has achieved high national and international status in their research accomplishments as evident in scholarly publications. Candidates must have at least fifteen (15) years of post qualification teaching and research experience in an institution of higher learning.
The candidate must have at least five years of cognate experience as a Chief Lecturer.
The candidate must have demonstrated integrity, be intellectually and professionally sound, and be familiar with the College of Education system’s rules and regulations. They must also be resourceful and able to command the respect and loyalty of the College’s staff and students.
He or she must not promote personal, social, ethnic, political, religious, or other sectional interests. The candidate must be skilled in ICT tools and have demonstrated community service.
The candidate must have vision, be able to set and achieve goals, and be able to develop and implement a college-wide strategic plan.

Terms of Appointment

The appointment is for a period of four years in the first instance; however, if the candidate performs satisfactorily, they may be eligible for a second and subsequent four-year term.

Recruitment for Bursar Positions at Imo State College of Education (IMSCOED) The Bursar is the College’s Chief Financial Officer and reports to the Provost for day-to-day financial administration and control.
On the terms and conditions outlined in the letter of appointment, the Bursar will hold office for the same amount of time as it does in other public colleges of education from the date of appointment.
Qualifications and Experience The applicant must have a good bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field and at least ten years of relevant experience, preferably in the accounting system of a College of Education or a comparable institution of higher learning, industry, commerce, or any other Public Service branch.
Possession of a relevant higher degree, as well as adequate computer application knowledge and a Certificate of Completion from one of the recognized bodies, such as:Any other recognized and acceptable professional qualification in accounting, such as ICAN, ANAN, or ACCA.
The person who will be appointed needs to have demonstrated significant skill, expertise, prudence, and integrity in the past.
He or she must be proactive and capable of managing a coordinated, decentralized Bursary system in an effective and efficient manner.
He or she must have good interpersonal skills.

Recruitment for Registrar Positions at Imo State College of Education (IMSCOED) The Registrar, a Principal Officer of the College, is accountable to the Provost for the College’s day-to-day administration.
He or she serves as the Secretary for the Academic Board, the Governing Council, and other Statutory Committees.
He or she is in charge of records, issues certificates, and interprets and applies the College’s rules and regulations.
In addition, the Council and the Provost may delegate additional responsibilities.
Qualifications and Experience: The candidate must have a good honors degree (minimum of Second Class Lower Division) or an equivalent from a recognized higher education institution, as well as at least fifteen (15) years of post-qualification cognate experience in tertiary institutions, or a Master’s degree from a recognized higher education institution, as well as at least ten (10) years of cognate experience in tertiary institutions, or a doctorate degree, as well as at least six (6)
He or she must have worked as a Deputy Registrar at a higher education institution for at least five (5) years.
He or she must be a member of the relevant professional body or bodies, such as NIM, CIPMN, CAI, etc. The candidate must be at least 55 years old when they take over. They must be of good character, have a sense of discipline, be dedicated, and be familiar with the College system’s rules and regulations.
Additionally, he or she must be computer literate and knowledgeable about Public Service Rules and Financial Regulations.

Experience and Qualifications Candidates for the position of College Librarian should have:
A minimum of a doctorate in library science or a field closely related to it, ten years of experience working in a college library, several scholarly publications, administrative experience, and the capacity to lead academic programs are required. The candidate must have worked as a Deputy College Librarian in a college or comparable institution for at least five years. Knowledge of ICT is required. Membership in a relevant professional association is required.
