IPOB discusses its plans to disrupt the elections in 2023

A claim that members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) intend to interfere with the 2023 election in Igboland has been refuted.

Emma Powerful, the tots’ spokesperson, issued a statement in which the group claimed that any reports of alleged plans to disrupt the 2023 election in the South East are false.
According to Akahi News, a video of a breakaway IPOB member named Simon Ekpa recently surfaced on the internet. In the video, Ekpa claimed that the group would not allow an election to be held in Biafraland.

However, the claims were refuted by the group’s leadership, who stated that “for the umpteenth time stated unequivocally that part of our modus operandi in our agitation for freedom has never been, is not, and will not be violent agitation.”
This explains our consistent demand that the United Nations hold a referendum in Biafran territory so that the people of Biafran can decide their future. As a result, IPOB has no intention of encouraging or sponsoring anyone or any group to disrupt the election, also known as Nigeria’s shoddy selection process.

“We are a focused, determined and disciplined freedom fighting movement, not political thugs and IPOB is devoted to the cause of liberating our people from subjugation and from modern-day slavery and Neo-colonialism and will not allow ourselves to be distracted from this very objective,” the IPOB stated, adding that it has consistently made it public that the group has no interest in and cannot legitimize the aberration they call an election in Nigeria.
The group went on to say that it has no interest in and will never be involved in any fraudulent pre- or post-election or election issues in Nigeria and that its mission is to spread the gospel of truth, which our leader has already preached.
“Whoever is sponsoring any group or gang that tags them as IPOB is responsible for their own actions.According to a portion of the statement, “IPOB is one indivisible family under one central command and leadership for those who are hard of hearing.”

In an effort to frighten people and bring IPOB under suspicion for their actions, the group rather accused the federal government of orchestrating insecurity in the South East.
The group stated, “We shall make a statement through our official channels if in the future IPOB leadership decides to make a further statement on the upcoming Nigeria selection process called an election.”
