Festus Keyamo, the spokesperson for the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, has stated that Bola Tinubu, the party’s presidential candidate, is still the one to beat in the elections in 2023.
Keyamo was responding to the march that was held on Monday in Lagos State to garner support for Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shettima, who was his running mate.
According to Akahi News, the rally was led by Oluremi, the wife of the Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat, and Ibijoke, the wife of the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
“Lagos Women Support Walk for Tinubu/Shettima, Sanwo-Olu, and Hamzat” was the title of the march.
Cornelius Ojelabi, chairman of the Lagos APC, was among others at the rally;Oluranti Adebule, a former Deputy Governor, and Jumoke Okoya-Thomas, a leader of the Lagos APC Women, among others, are examples.
As they marched from Lagos Island to the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, APC supporters waved brooms and flags of varying sizes and chanted songs of solidarity.
In an effort to garner support for the APC candidate and his running mate, supporters of Tinubu were also observed donning fez caps with inscriptions and branded T-shirts in a variety of colors.
Additionally, the women solicited support for Sanwo-Olu and Hamzat’s bid for a second term.
Keyamo stated in response to the rally on Monday via his Twitter handle that the women took part in the march to show their appreciation for Tinubu’s contributions to the rapid development of Lagos over the past 23 years.
The Minister of State for Labor and Employment added that the women will “speak so loud in 2023” and that they are not influenced or blinded by tribal sentiments.
He penned:These are women who appreciate @officialABAT’s efforts to ensure Lagos’ rapid development over the past 23 years.Tribal sentiments do not direct or blind them.In 2023, they will speak and speak loudly. The novices believe they can instruct us in marching!
