Professor Ransford Gyampo, a political science professor at the University of Ghana, has urged the Paramount Chief of the Akyem Abuakawa Traditional Area, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin, to remain neutral in his public statements.
He claims that the traditional ruler must maintain a neutral perspective in front of the public because he is widely regarded as a uniter.
“Dear Okyenhene, do you really think that the people who are critical of NADAA are wizards and villagers? When there is conflict, you are one of the few people we will look to.Please rise above this and allow your remarks to be impartial, unified, and mature.Medaase, Nana, “urged Professor Gyampo.
The Okyehene’s recent remarks prompted the political science lecturer to offer advice. He called those who disagree with President Akufo-Addo “witches.”
He said that Ghanaians who insult President Akufo-Addo because of the current economic hardship are uncivilized and witches at the Sunday inauguration of the Kyebi Archdeaconry at St. Martin Anglican Church.
He questioned why some people have failed to recognize the President for “his efforts” and contributions to the country’s development in his speech.
He asserts that the children of villagers are responsible for the attacks, insults, and booing campaigns directed at President Akufo-Addo.
We ought to slow down, show our appreciation, and thank him for his efforts; He deserves our protection. The insults are intended for illiterate children; He stated, “Unless you are a witch or wizard, you won’t do that if you are properly trained.”
In the meantime, numerous Ghanaians have questioned the traditional leader regarding his remarks via social media.
The Okyehene’s remarks are criticized as offensive and unworthy of his position by critics.
As a result, they have advised him to speak with more respect in order to avoid being the target of slander and public ridicule.
