Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, has criticized the assault on Apostle Johnson Suleman, the Omega Fire Ministries founder.
In his Twitter post in response to the incident, Obi noted that the attack on Apostle Suleman demonstrates the nation’s level of insecurity.
He added that the nation receives daily reports of vile acts committed by the clergyman.
According to the former governor of Anambra State, terrorist, violent, and criminal acts are highly deplorable.
Obi asserts that the country’s progress has been hindered by the level of insecurity.
If elected president in 2023, he reiterated his commitment to combating insecurity.
Obi prayed that God would grant the people who died in the incident eternal rest, expressing sorrow for their loss.
The presidential candidate urged law enforcement to locate and bring those responsible for such crimes to justice.
According to Akahi News, gunmen attacked the cleric’s convoy last week in Edo State.
Seven people, including three police officers, perished as a result of the incident.
“The recent attack on the Founder of Omega Fire Ministries, @APOSTLESULEMAN, underscores the level of insecurity in our nation,” Obi wrote in the post.It is disheartening to read about uglier acts like these every day from various regions of the nation.
Terrorism, violence, and other forms of criminal activity are strongly condemned. The nation’s progress has been hampered by the persistent high level of insecurity that continues to plague it.
“When I am elected to power, I reiterate my commitment to making the fight against insecurity my top priority in governance. The number of people killed in the attack saddens me;It’s too many lives lost to insecurity.I ask God to grant eternal rest to the victims.
“May God also provide comfort to the departed families.I appeal to the security forces to apprehend those responsible for such crimes.
