Police arrest three robbery suspects, recover vehicle

Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested three suspects, all members of a gang that specialises in using vehicles to rob unsuspecting people, popularly called “One Chance,” operating along the Oshodi–Gbagada Expressway, Lagos.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, on Tuesday, confirmed that the suspects abandoned their operational vehicle, a Suzuki mini bus popularly called ‘Korope’ at the Gbagada area of Oshodi-Oke along the Gbagada–Oshodi Expressway, on April 14, 2023, when the RRS officials accosted them while trying to drop off a victim.
“Investigation revealed that the suspects had earlier hijacked the operational vehicle at gunpoint at Ketu Bus Stop, Lagos-Badagry Expressway, Ojo, sometime in February and the incident was reported at Ijanikin Police Divisional Headquarters.
“The suspects, Wale Ajayi, 24, Abideen Saka, 26, and Oliseh Sunday aka Bobwhiskey, 29, who were later arrested at their hideout following weeks of intensive investigation have since been arraigned and remanded,” Hundeyin said in a statement.
