Police react after lecturer brutalizes 20-year-old with help from his family

Dr. Fred Ekpe Ayokhai, a senior lecturer in the department of History and International Studies at the Federal University of Lafia (FULAFIA), was detained by the police command in Lafia, Nasarawa State, for the molesting of a young girl.
According to Akahi News, the lecturer was caught flogging the 20-year-old girl who allegedly beat his daughter over a man on October 21, 2022.
The victim, who goes by the name Blessing Mathias, confronted Emmanuella Onawegie, the daughter of Ayokhai, for attempting to steal her boyfriend, who went by the name IG.
After learning that Emmanuella had been having a private conversation with her boyfriend, Blessing tried to delete the number from her phone, but the boyfriend refused, which led to a fight.
In the viral online video, Blessing was brutally beaten in her home by Emmanuella, her father Ekpe Ayokhai, and other family members before being forced into their car.
After that, they drove into an unknown forest, where the senior lecturer cut off her dress with scissors while the woman cried heavily and begged for help.
Numerous Nigerians on social media demanded justice after the video caused outrage.
The police noted that two suspects involved in the incident had been arrested in response to the incident.
Additionally, they stated that the case has been the subject of an investigation.

The fact that two suspects have been apprehended in connection with the case and that the vehicle that was used to transport the victim to an undisclosed location where she was assaulted has been recovered is encouraging.
The pursuit of the remaining wanted suspects is ongoing.
