Over 100,000 state employees’ salaries will be increased, according to Lagos State Governor Bababjide Sanwo-Olu.
Governor Sanwo-Olu said that the raise will be higher than the Federal Government’s minimum wage, “as Lagos is a pacesetter and first in setting the standard,” but he didn’t say how much.
Additionally, the governor pledged that by the end of October, workers would receive payment for the entire pension backlog.
During his working visit, Sanwo-Olu disclosed these on Tuesday while addressing a large group of employees gathered at the Head of Service, HOS’s office in Alausa, Ikeja.
The governor commented on the salary review, saying:We are aware of the country’s high cost of living and inflation, but we are determined to mitigate its effects on our residents and workers.
