An officer of the Nigeria Police Force has reportedly been kidnapped in Kwara State by a group of gunmen who have not been identified.

According to reports that reached Akahi News on Thursday, the assailants took the Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Abdulmumini Yusuf, who is a member of the Area Command in Ilorin, to an undisclosed location.
State Police Commissioner CP Paul Odama told reporters in Ilorin today that the personnel had been kidnapped on Tuesday night while he was on his way home in the Ogidi area of the state capital, confirming the embarrassing situation.
Odama stated to reporters in Ilorin, “Yes, it is true, but we are still on it.”SP Okasanmi Ajayi, the command’s spokesman, confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation is ongoing to secure the officer’s release.
According to Ayayi, the reason for the kidnapping is still unclear.
The PPRO stated, “The incident, as serious as it is, has not diminished the command’s resolve to protect the lives and property of the citizens.”
Jamiu Abdulganiy, an Ogidi community resident, also told PM News that the community has become tense as a result of the officer’s kidnapping because residents are unsure of the circumstances surrounding the incident.
In other news, a group of terrorists invaded Gidan Baushe and Gatakawa village communities in the state’s Kankara Local Government Area on Wednesday, resulting in the deaths of two people.
SP Gambo Isah, the spokesperson for the State Command of the Nigeria Police Force, issued a statement on Thursday confirming this.
Akahi News found out that the attackers had earlier stormed the communities and taken at least 18 people hostage.According to reports, the terrorists stormed the communities at midnight on motorcycles and began sporadic shooting.
According to Isah, the command was made aware of the situation and sent its personnel to the scene right away to confront the terrorists.
But he said that the two people were killed before the police arrived, and he said that another resident was hurt.
