Former Senator Olaka Wogu, a close ally of Governor Nyesom Wike, has stated that the Rivers State Governor will announce his decision regarding the 2023 presidential candidate at the appropriate time.

According to Naija News, Wike had meetings with Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi and All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Bola Tinubu, which stoked speculation that he might be preparing to support a candidate other than PDP candidate Atiku Abubakar.
“Wike has said he would openly declare his stand when we get to that point,” Wogu stated in an interview with The PUNCH.The previous time, he met with his leaders and decided to drop out of the campaign council.Because all leaders attended the meeting, spoke, and the decision was made, it is not unilateral. This kind of thing can’t be done by yourself.
The group has expanded beyond just him.The decision will be made after everyone sits down and shares their thoughts.
Housing Allowance Wogu, a former legislator, also complained about the controversy over the N100 million housing allowance that some PDP members of the National Working Committee returned.
Keep in mind that a few NWC members, such as Taofeek Arapaja, the Deputy National Chairman (South);Prof. Stella Effah-Attoe, the National Woman Leader;and Chief Dan Orbih, the South-South National Vice Chairman, had refunded their housing allowance to the party.
When asked about the controversy, Wogu expressed surprise at the information “coming out of the PDP NWC.
He stated, “We have a significant election coming up, and we need to excite Nigerians and demonstrate our determination to win.We can’t sit by and watch Rome burn like Nero did.
“While the PDP’s base is being eroded on every front, we cannot be on these things.”PDP supporters are being taken by the Labour Party; We are just wasting our time on these things because the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) is taking PDP supporters. We will be rewarded if Ayu is good enough for the party.
Nigerians aren’t stupid. It’s possible that people will evaluate us based on those standards, and those standards may not be adequate for us.No matter how hard you try to hide these things from the public, no one should be able to lead Nigeria with such happenings.
“How is it possible that we can watch our youths speak to us as they are doing through their support for Peter Obi and still not want to listen? We are acting with the same arrogance by which we lost power the previous time, and we don’t want to hear it.
The former legislator asserts that the PDP’s internal problems have prevented it from capitalizing on the APC crisis.
He urged the leaders of the PDP to issue the “needful” warning that the opposition party cannot participate in an election without unity and anticipate a favorable or desirable outcome.
