Two suspected internet fraudsters arrested in Ogun for allegedly killing 40-year-old man for money ritual

Operatives of the Ogun state Police Command have arrested two suspected internet fraudsters, who are referred to as “yahoo Boys,” for allegedly killing a 40-year-old man for a money ritual. They killed Abdullahi Azeez, cut him up, and used him for a “money-making” ritual.

The state police command’s spokesperson, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, issued a statement stating that the suspects;Friday Abinya Odeh, a 21-year-old, and Poso Idowu, a 20-year-old, were taken into custody in response to a report that was filed at the Owode Egba divisional headquarters on June 9, 2022, by the victim’s family. The report stated that the victim had left his home in the Kobape area on June 8th, 2022, and had not been seen there since.

“Upon receiving the report, the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole, directed the state Criminal Investigation Departments’ anti-kidnapping unit to take over the investigation and solve the mystery of the man’s sudden disappearance.”
The SP Taiwo Opadiran-led team carried out a technical and intelligence-based investigation in accordance with the CP’s instructions, which led them to Friday Abinya Odeh’s hideout on September 22, 2022, where the victim’s Airtel Sim card was found.Poso Idowu, his accomplice, was apprehended as a result of his arrest.”He said Oyeyemi said that during the interrogation, the suspects confessed that they kidnapped the victim on June 8, 2022, in the Kobape area, around 7:30 p.m., from where they forcefully took him to the bush, killed him, and cut up his body,” Oyeyemi said.He said they also admitted that the herbalist they claimed to have contacted on Facebook and who prescribed the ritual for them was Arab money.
He stated that since the suspects claimed to have destroyed the victim’s remains, no efforts were made to retrieve them.
According to the spokesperson, the state Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole, has ordered that the suspects be brought before a judge as soon as the investigation is finished.
