Hushpuppi’s sentencing by US court is delayed until November 7

The US Central District Court in California has moved Ramon Abbas, also known as Hushpuppi,’s confessed internet fraudster sentence.
Akahi News recalls that Hushpuppi was taken to the United States in July 2021 to plead guilty to multi-million-dollar fraud charges following his arrest in Dubai in June 2020.
In July 2021, Hushpuppi agreed to a guilty plea to the multimillion-dollar fraud charges brought by the American government against him.
In the hope of receiving a lesser sentence, the cyberthief agreed to a plea bargain with US authorities.
In a notice that was made public by US authorities, the trial judge, Otis Wright, set November 7, 2022, as the date that Hushpuppi would be sentenced.
“counsel is notified, the sentencing is continued to November 7, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. as to defendant Ramon Olorunwa Abbas,” reads the court announcement announcing the date change.
Judge Wright originally scheduled the sentence for February 14, but it was later moved to July 11, 2022, September 21, and now November 7.
Since his arrest in Dubai and transfer to the United States in June 2020, he has been in prison.
After serving his sentence in jail and paying the amount that needs to be returned, Hushpuppi, who is not a citizen of the United States, will be deported.
