Governor Wike Gives Fresh Political Appointment To 28,000 Persons

On Wednesday, Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike announced the appointments of 28,000 individuals to various political positions.
Kelvin Ebiri, his spokesperson, released a statement that mentioned the appointment.It was noted in the statement that each appointment takes effect immediately.
The Rivers State Governor appointed 14,000 Special Advisers, 319 Ward Liaison Officers, and 40 Local Government Area Liaison Officers just 24 hours earlier, according to Akahi News.
Ebiri’s statement went on to say that Governor Wike also set aside N1 billion to help flood victims in the state, including those in Ahoada West and the local government areas (LGAs) of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni.
He says that the move is being made “to enable vulnerable families, particularly in Ahoada West and Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni LGAs, which are the most impacted areas in the state, to cope with the devastating flood water that has inundated homes, farmlands, and forced residents of affected communities to relocate to safer places,” as he puts it. These LGAs are the most affected areas in the state.
To ensure that the affected individuals have access to the government intervention, a task force has been established.
Dr. George Nwaeke, the Permanent Secretary, Special Services Bureau (SSB) in the Office of the Secretary to the Rivers State Government, will be the Taskforce’s chairman, and Mrs. Inime I. Aguma will be its secretary.
The Hon. Chairman of the Ahoada West LGA is one of the Taskforce’s additional members.Ikiriko’s hope;Hon. is the Chairman of the Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni LGA.Job, Vincent;Hon.The Director of Administration in the Ministry of Special Duties and Chukwuemeka Onowo.
According to Akahi News, the task force’s members will meet with Governor Wike on Thursday at the Rivers State Government House in Port Harcourt.
